Ryan and I partook in one of my favorite fall festivities this weekend…

pumpkin carving

just another reason why

Fall is my favorite.

Just sippin’ on chicken noodle soup: post-wisdom teeth removal, pre-punkin’ carvin’.

Self-timer good-ness. I love fall festivities with this boy!

High five for the Power-T.

stuffed pep rally

So you know how I struggle hard-core when it comes to cooking? Well, my confidence is starting to slowly build after my taste buds were giving me some positive “feed”-back based on a Tuesday night success in the kitchen. Ryan and I–(no, not my usual Sous Chef, Boyardee)–decided we wanted to whip up some grub. So I went Pinteresting (duh) and got a little ambitious. We landed on some blog that was boasting of stuffed peppers. Looked legit, sounded easy enough, and our eyes were super hungry after staring at pictures of food.

I am definitely not a food blogger; therefore, I will not be going into detail on how to make these babies.

But this is where I got the recipe–http://simplylovefood.blog.com/2012/02/25/southwestern-stuffed-peppers/

Fact: If it smells good, it probably tastes good. I had high hopes after smelling it sizzle in the oven.

Fact: He could be on “Chopped”.

Fact: Av (aka avocado) makes everything taste better.

Fact: Cooking is fun when there are no explosions!

It was delicious. And I got to eat some for lunch the next day. Leftovers are thebomb.com

merry christmas, happy holidays.

love, n’sync.

I got a brand spankin’ new camera for my birthday/christmas and I can already tell I’m going to love it. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. “Auto” mode is my best friend right now…

Jules asked for a nerf-gun from Santa this year…so naturally he brought us two so we could battle. Duh. It was fun to get a “toy” this year that we could play with on Christmas day. I have already been shot in the face twice, so I’m not sure about my career in the Nerf Army.

Jules and I have almost twinky birthdays. Back-to-back: December 27 and 28. I love celebrating with her two days in a row. It kinda feels like we both have two birthdays

My birthday consisted of Dunkin Donuts coffee, a cheeseburger from Sullivans, crafting/laughing/singing with Cass and Bec, chowing down on my favorite cake with my family, ice-skating and eating at Tom-Head with Ryan, and surprise fun with my friends. Loved every minute of it!

Thankful for people who love me well. Thankful that Emanuel has come and God is with us. Praying that this truth really sinks into my heart…

We spend most of our lives trying to make things happen for ourselves and for the people we love. But life is not reduced to what you give or know or achieve. Nor is it reduced to your mistakes, your failures, or your sin. life isn’t even defined by whome you love. Rather, it is defined by the God who loves you. In other words, you are not the central character–not even of your own life’s story. This is not meant to demean you; it is meant to set you free.

the weekend lacking of labor

Labor Day Weekend 2k11. So much to love about it!

Good ole college football kicked off. I’m not one of those people that counts down the days til the Vols run through the “T” (which they actually didn’t even do this game thanks to the torential downpour and 1.5 hour delayed start) but I sure am psyched about this season! I love me some Derek Dooley. I might have a coach crush on him. He was sporting some prrretty good-looking orange pants on Saturday–and I think maybe some cowboy boots underneath?…the jury’s still out on that one though.

Normally, I would say booms-day-til-i-die…but this year, the weather scared me off. My sweatshirt felt so good and the spaghetti the Brooks were making smelled too delicious to pass up. Even though I didn’t go to Boomsday, I still was able to experience some good ole redneck fashion. That’s right people, the annual Boomsday Dance Party. It was at Meg Davis’ barn aka the absolute perfect place to get dooown.

it's sad that i was taking a real life bite in this picture.

Then on Monday, it rained and rained and rained some more. I hung out at the Cheetah and watched Friday Night Lights all–day–long. Pretty perfect day if ya ask me! Then Ryan and I went on our boooooms-date that night. We’ve been bf/gf for 365 days now! (insert fireworks here). We ate like kings and queens at Calhouns on the River and then made some blueberry cobbler for dessert. Yummm in my tum. I loved spending time with him!

go big orange. matching jerseys last year. we planned it.

Labor day weekend. Check. Enjoyed every minute of it!
